The end of August 2014 saw some 65,700 internally displaced people returning to what was left of their homes in Gaza after 50 days of conflict with Israel.

Amnesty International said on March 26 2015, that both sides had committed war crimes. The 50 days of war was sparked by the kidnapping and killing of 3 Israeli teenagers and ultimately led to the deaths of  2,100 mostly civilian Palestinians and 66 Israeli soldiers and six civilians.
