Nagorno-Karabakh Front, Armenia. 2012
Sara Anjargolian’s images illuminate daily life for Armenia’s armed forces patrolling the frontline in Nagorno-Karabakh – the disputed territory between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Although a delicate ceasefire has held since 1994, the peace is frequently interrupted by gunfire, which often results in military and civilian deaths on both sides of the border.
This work was created over the course of several months at military bases and along the frontline trenches in Southern and Northern NagornoKarabakh.
