Part 2 of 2

As Greece continues its economic free fall, little on the horizon is giving cause for optimism.  On Sunday 5 July 2015, voting is underway in a referendum to decide whether or not Greek citizens are willing to comply with further austerity measures as part of the conditions set by its creditors for further loans.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has urged his country to vote “No”, saying that austerity measures have created a “humanitarian crisis” in Greece.

Milos Bicanski has been tracking the social cost of this crisis since 2009 and you can find Part 1 of his essay here.
