Harold Good Voice Flute with his Lakota flag which he believes saved his life. Flute, 30, spent 11 months and 23 days in Iraq. Before he left Pine Ridge his uncle, a traditional Lakota, gave him a small flag and an eagle feather which Harold carried under his uniform. Harold was the only Native American in his unit of 128 soldiers, all of whom came back from the war without any casualties, "We were lucky, maybe because of the feather and flag I kept all the time close to my heart or maybe because I did a Sun Dance and prayed for our well being." He feels good about participating in the war and defending his country. Svetlana Bachevanova/The Stand
